Glass coolamon - Ceremonial boomerangs

Glass coolamon - Ceremonial boomerangs

This engraving is a person playing their ceremonial boomerangs (we generally didn't have clapsticks in this region)

Inspired by petroglyphs on my grandfathers country.

The colour was chosen to represent the stone the image is engraved on.

These petroglyphs are estimated to be around 40000 years old.

The red coolamon is to show the curve of the coolamon only.

Traditional coolamon are curved wooden bowls and like this glass one some have open ends.

Size is 45x25 cm
